It's been a very big week for Picfair. We’ve rolled out a new site, released the newest iteration of our groundbreaking image search algorithm, and …. we’ve just passed 3 million images!
Since the day we launched just over two years ago, we’ve been working obsessively to reach photographers in every corner of the globe. We’ve seen tens of thousands of photographers joining up from 130 countries and counting.
We’ve built a new image licensing standard from scratch, finally giving photographers the deal they deserve. While the industry giants have continued to aggressively take royalties away from photographers, we’ve created a model that rewards creativity, rather than exploiting it. Picfair only makes money if our photographers make more.
We’re incredibly proud of our photographers; of our industry-challenging search algorithms; and our three-million-strong library. And from today, we’re stepping up our mission to push them out into the world. As Picfair enters a new phase of its lifecycle over the coming months, here's a few of the changes we’re unveiling:
New site, new search
You’ll notice that our site looks a little bit different today. We want Picfair buyers to be blown away by the quality of our images. Our new homepage feeds from the newest iteration of our unique Picked algorithm, filling the page with whatever you search for. You’ll also find a new selection of stunning Picfair category pages, populated with a regularly-updating selection of our finest images.
Tools, Tips, and the Best of Picfair
Over the next few weeks, we’re launching a new series of buyer-focussed themed collections via email, showing off the incredible quality, diversity, and value of our images. We’ll also be unveiling new photographer tools, tutorials, and publishing platforms to help you market and share your images with professional efficiency. We want Picfair to become the most comprehensive image marketing platform in the world - for both professionals and amateurs.
Buyer-facing hires
We’re hiring in two new areas to help push Picfair’s images across the globe. We’re looking for a Media Manager to help build, sustain and scale our relationships with publishers; and a Sales Executive to target agencies, businesses and individuals. Both positions will be based at Picfair's HQ in east London. If you think you know someone who fits the bill, please pass this on.
