A few of Picfair's best-sellers discuss their goals & outcomes

Sarah Hardy

  • Aim: I first signed up to Picfair out of curiosity, to see if any of my photos sell. Straight away I was welcomed by their team, with personal feedback on my uploads and friendly encouragement. I also quickly had some sales coming in.
  • Outcomes: I was featured on their Picfair Picks, and Rough Guides even licensed a couple of my photos which was a highlight for me. Since I uploaded the best of my travel photography in 2014, I kind of let it sit dormant and didn't take advantage of everything they offer, but every now and again I'll check my emails to find someone had licensed a photo and I've made some money, pretty much from doing nothing, which is always a nice surprise!
  • Favourite feature: I need to learn about some of the newer features, so I recently upgraded to Picfair Plus and I'm excited to see the new benefits. I highly recommend this platform for photographers wanting to get their work out there!

Andrew Palmer

  • Aim: I signed up to Picfair intending to start selling my photography as prints for a few reasons: To make a little money to help through the pandemic, to get my work noticed, and to get featured (or better yet signed up) by a company or agent.
  • Outcomes: So far I've been able to sell over $400 worth of prints, and I actually decided to donate the money to some of the colleagues I worked with in Mozambique, and to Save the Rhino International.
  • Favourite feature: The store! The store is so easy to organize & it's made me feel like I've got my own professional website.

Marcus Nolan

  • Aim: I wanted to make a proper start in my photography career and generate interest in my craft, and I saw the lowest barrier to entry through selling prints. I first searched for a printing fulfillment site that was uncomplicated, easy to set up on and had a good and customisable aesthetic. I also saw the value in selling commercial licences of my art on the same site... So, Picfair became a no brainer after reading into the resources offered by Picfair on how to position your print store socially. The year subscription was also very reasonable.
  • Outcomes: My greatest achievement with Picfair was the quick turnaround time in sales I generated since first setting up in November 2020. The rush for Christmas present shopping meant many of my insta followers were interested in wall art of the rugged West of Ireland, after many of them spent most of 2020 reconnecting to home. One buyer from Chicago shared my prints she bought on her instagram story, which felt amazing!
  • Favourite feature: I like how simple the Store Settings page is. I can choose a colour scheme and customise the layout and spacing between photos on my homepage. The ability to create Albums is also very helpful - I recently had a follower on Insta asking if I had a website page specifically for Galway, Ireland that his parents could review before choosing a print. This bettered their experience of my print portfolio, which I was happy about!
