Urbex (or Urban Exploration) = to explore components and structures of the built environment, often abandoned buildings, tunnels or skyscrapers, that are usually unseen or inaccessible.
At Picfair, we are proud of our open door policy: when we say that any photographer, from any background, can upload any image, we truly mean that. And for this reason, we are honoured to represent the work of some of the most prolific (and most daring) urbex photographers out there, who are bringing to the table some of the most unique, courageous and game-changing photography available for purchase on the image-licensing marketplace.
From deep inside the cavernous tunnel network of Manchester's Victorian sewers, to high up on the isolated cranes over the City of London; our collection of urbex images is positively jaw-dropping and undeniably cool, and we've put together a showcase of our most impressive pics, just so you can see for yourself...
N.B. As much as urban exploration is truly awe-inspiring, it is also extremely dangerous and we encourage all photographers to carefully consider their own safety and that of others. It is also very contentious when it comes to the laws of trespassing, and we would not recommend, nor endorse, entering a space that is private property, or without prior permission.
