Doug is a photographer who brings us a beautiful portfolio of images from the East Anglia region of England. They feature his signature style throughout and many are captured from an eyecatching low-angle perspective.
He describes his photography as his passion, and in his own words "loves the way his camera enables him to see things from a different perspective".
My favourite photographer:
It would have to be Gary Gough. He has a fantastic YouTube channel where he teaches many things from Camera settings, composition, long exposure techniques and post-processing. His photography is outstanding and a true inspiration for me.
My best tip for other photographers:
Plan your shots early. If you're wanting to get a sunrise or sunset get to the location at least an hour before. Look at the weather forecast the day before. If it's going to be high winds it might not be the best conditions for long exposure photography. If you're thinking of doing a seascape, find out the day before what time high tide will be. I use a fantastic app called PhotoPills which helps me plot where and when the sun, moon or milky way will be in my shot. It's very rewarding when you already have your camera set up knowing that the sun will rise or set in the position you've plotted for your composition.
My favourite photograph:
It's a tough one as I have so many it's hard to choose. I have recently been focusing on long exposure seascapes along the Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines. One photo that I do really like from one of these trips is a shot from Hunstanton beach (see below). It's quite a simplistic shot with minimal elements but I think it portrays how tranquil the moment was.
