The Greater Kurdistan region roughly comprises the area of southeastern Turkey, north-west Iran, northern Iraq and northern Syria; where the majority of the population is made up of Kurdish people and the predominant culture is Kurdish. When it comes to current geopolitics, Kurdistan is sensitive, and coverage of this area, especially in the news, is often for all the wrong reasons.
Taking pictures in this area is not easy, and we are always extremely proud to champion the work of our photographers who venture out to these more challenging corners of the globe and bring us truly incredible work to make available to license.
We are honoured to represent the portfolio of Berengere Cavalier, who has captured a stunning series of portraits of Kurdish people that emanates the genuine warmth and beauty of the Kurdish people and provides an alternative, more representative and softer focus on the region.
Here is our hand-picked selection from the best of Beregere's portraits, and you can also view her full portfolio here.
