Holi Festival (Festival of Colours and Festival of Love), is a Hindu festival celebrated on the Indian Subcontinent which marks the end of winter, the beginning of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It is a time when friends and families come together to celebrate love, friendship, happiness and forgiveness. Festivities start on the night of the full moon, or Purnima, when religious rituals are performed, and the next day is the smearing of colours - a free-for-all carnival of colour: without a doubt one of the most photogenic events of the year. Holi festival this year falls on March 1st and March 2nd - a must-have date in your feature calendar.
The joy of Holi festival has also spread to other parts of the world, with similar large gatherings in cities including London, Madrid, Jakarta and Toronto. And at Picfair Towers we absolutely love any celebration of openness, love and equality. So here are some of the most incredible, showstopping and kaleidoscopically colourful images of Holi festival from across the collection.
