What it means to be a women in society is changing. For many women across cultures and generations, to be feminine has meant to be beautiful, to be gentle, to be caring, and even submissive. Women have modified their bodies, sometimes drastically, in order to achieve the desired aesthetic as dictated by their culture. It is important therefore, to reflect on the context of these prescribed ideals; to acknowledge that, in truth that a universal femininity does not exist.
