Did you know that National Trust (National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty to give its full title) is, with five million members, the largest membership organisation in the UK?
Well quite frankly we didn’t. The charity owns 950 million2 of land across the country, featuring historic houses and gardens, industrial monuments, and social history sites. The various National Trust locations also boast a vast amount of areas of outstanding beauty - such as coastlines, mountain peaks, and valleys; you think of a geological feature, and the chances are it will feature in a National Trust site.
It thus goes without saying that these sites are a goldmine for photography, especially landscapes. We probably could have made-up this gallery with hundreds of images, but instead we’ve picked the cream of the crop for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
