Buachaille Etive Mor is one of the best known and loved of all the Munro peaks. In this image I captured the first pink blush as the Sun lit up the summit,add in the wonderful Coupal falls and you have the highlands in miniature.
Gates form part of the necessary infrastructure of managing animals in most rural areas and a lot of people don't understand the importance of them. This one lies open and broken, but the road is protected by a cattle grid, which is an alternative form of a gate. This view is with a pair of peaks in the background that I named the Sisters.
Living in such stunning surroundings has it's own trials. Not all roads are paved and it's an 8 mile drive to the nearest small convenience store. The main supermarket is about 22 miles away over mainly narrow winding country lanes.
