Caption	A cluster of old wooden fishing boats moored in the shallows of the Wanggeszhuang River Lagoon, Lingshan Bay, China. The image was taken as the tide was receding, revealing the shallows of the water while still remaining deep enough under the boats to show the turquoise. I chose to spend rather a lot of time down on the beach and in the lagoon, early mornings, late afternoons and evenings. At first the fishermen seemed weary of me – I guess a tall blonde woman is not a sight frequently seen in the less travelled parts of China ;) I was fascinated by their “old” ways … the traditional old fishing vessels, the life of the fisherman, dictated by by nature’s tides. Here in the lagoon and on the beach I felt like I was able to witness a slice of “real” life in China :)
