Since announcing Picfair's Women Behind the Lens competition just over a week ago, we've been blown away by the response: not just by the support we’ve received from the photographic community, but also by the exceptional standard of images we're receiving from women photographers from around the globe.
With entries from over 30 countries and counting - including photographers from Yemen, Vietnam, Nigeria, and Libya - we're delighted to see so many new photographers sharing their images for the first time alongside submissions from existing Picfair contributors from across the globe.
While we're hugely excited to be exhibiting the shortlisted entries at The Guardian’s London HQ in December, it’s thrilling to be able to provide a platform for these photographers to showcase their images to global publishers and agencies. Every entrant has a chance to make money from their images, and our publisher partners are gaining access to a new generation of images they previously wouldn't have been able to access.
With just three weeks to go until the competition closes, we’re repeating our call for as many women as possible to sign up and submit their images. A reminder: Women Behind the Lens is open to female photographers from any background, and of any level of experience.
Please help us spread the word. And if you’re entering … we can't wait to see your images.
Sign up and enter before November 26th at Women Behind the Lens
