How do I begin?

Go here and click ‘Sign Up’ in the top right corner of the page. Upload your images, choose your prices, and that’s it! Your images will be available to our global network of buyers.

Why Picfair?

We offer the highest royalty percentage in the industry and give you control of your prices. We are evolving from a simple marketplace to a fully fledged photography company, and soon will be introducing many more ways to make money from your images; global assignments, creating your own shop, prints and more. Plus, we have an amazing support team who are always on hand to help.

What makes Picfair fair trade?

We are the only marketplace that allows photographers choose their prices and get 100% of what they ask for. Picfair makes money by adding a 20% commission on every purchase.

Does it cost to use Picfair?

No!

What kind of images perform well on Picfair?

Picfair’s image buyers have licensed images for hundreds of different uses - from commercial website backgrounds, promotional material, printed brochures, and editorial usage to personal use on wall prints and business cards. There is a need for everything - you never know how unusual a project might be. Have a browse through some of our categories for inspiration.

Who licenses from Picfair?

Here is a selection of some of our buyers: Nat Geo, Lonely Planet, Jack Daniels, Topshop, Etihad Airlines, Guardian, Rapha, Rough Guides, Medium, Esquire, DK, Time Inc… the list goes on.

What happens when someone licenses my image?

They can use the image once. What they are allowed to use it for depends on the license they purchase - you can read about licensing here. You can still use the images for whatever you want - you always retain the copyright.

What prices should I set for my images?

This is up to you. Some of our buyers are charities on a tight budget; some are massive international brands. We want you to set prices that you are comfortable with. You can change them at any time, so don’t worry about hitting the sweet spot straight away.

Is Picfair exclusive?

No - you can sell your images elsewhere, too.

How does Picfair protect my images?

It's vital to Picfair that we protect the rights of photographers and protect their images as much as possible. We watermark all your images with our logo and your name, and keep careful track of images which have been downloaded from the site. On the very rare occasion where we find that they've been used without correct licensing we've been able to have the image taken down, or the photographer paid almost immediately.

It's something we take very seriously so are continuously looking to integrate additional tools (such as invisible watermarks or image tracking) to ensure that we can protect these images to the best of our ability.
