With a population of over 1.3 billion, dozens of religions, hundreds of languages and a wealth of different cultures, it might just be one of the most diverse countries on earth. Yet one thing that seems to be true for the whole nation is that life is overwhelmingly lived outside, on doorsteps, riverbanks, street corners, markets.
