Wilfred is a travel photographer who is "always eager to learn anew along this journey called life" and brings us a beautifully-curated selection of images to his Picfair Store.
Favourite photographer:
There are numerous photographers whose work inspires me, masters such as Sebastião Salgado, Steve McCurry, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, and aspiring travel, street, and portrait photographers such as Alessandro Bergamini from Italy,
Mou Aysha and GMB Akash from Bangladesh, and
Wojtek Stark from Germany.
Best tip:
We all have different ways of perceiving and experiencing life all around us. I can only speak for myself. No matter where our interest in photography
lies, the first step, obviously, always is to be thoroughly aware of the moment, the environment we are in before starting to shoot. I keep training myself
in just ’seeing’, and then I start to capture whatever appeals to me.
Favourite photo:
I don’t really have just one favourite photograph. There are various which I like, for instance, those I have recently uploaded from my travels through India (see one of these below). They reflect quite well what I enjoy the most as a travel photographer, namely to stroll through a street and capture everyday life in all its facets and to meet the locals and interact with them whenever possible. I am always fascinated by the hustle and bustle in Indian cities where even in the narrowest of spaces there is always so much happening simultaneously. Usually, I look for a small spot somewhere on the side from where I can best observe, and then I start shooting whatever captivates my interest, fleeting moments of life, instants which I find either special, comic, awkward, absurd, or even magical.
