Favourite photographer:
Hands down, Sebastião Salgado. His work is so hauntingly beautiful and ethereal, it's hard to believe it's of this world.
Top tip:
My advice for photographers is to try to not let others' work deter you or make you feel inferior. Allow it to inspire you if you can, and learn from it, but don't let comparing your work to others' dishearten or discourage you from your own growth as a photographer. I have definitely been guilty of this in the past and it's not helpful to anyone. We all have our own unique strengths and should build on these and not focus on our shortcomings.
Favourite photograph:
These two characters in Havana, Cuba (see below). I love the reaction it gets from people, which is usually a smile and a lighthearted joke about ageing. I sent a print of this to Cuba with a couple of friends who were visiting Havana to pass along to the iconic ladies but found out they had passed away, sadly.
