Pete is a Bristol-based photographer who brings us a beautifully cinematic themed set of images from his local city and the landscape beyond.
Favourite photographer:
Probably, Professor Hines - it was his ability to naturally capture everyday life that motivated me to get out and start exploring the streets with my camera more, although his focus has shifted more from street to landscape photography recently, but he still serves as my daily dose of inspiration. He is also very open and approachable and doesn’t shy away from offering his tips (and more importantly EXIF data) on his shots.
Best tip for photographers out there:
Get out there and shoot. Don’t get caught up in how many likes you might get, or how your Insta grid needs to flow, post what makes you happy. Once you realise your passion, you understand that you are doing this for you, and once you move away from trying to post what you think people will like, you start to post what YOU like. That way, you can create your own style, whereby your photography personality can really shine through.
Favourite photograph:
It has got to be my capture of lightning striking over the Clifton Suspension bridge in Bristol (below). I must have photographed this location several hundred times, however this one was a once in a lifetime, right place, right time kinda shot. I remember being out with my camera and hearing the storm roll in and scrambling to get to this location, and managed to get setup and capture this shot before the rain rolled in.
