Morocco, despite its modest size, is the most visited country in Africa boasting over 10 million tourists a year - with designs by the government to increase this exponentially in the near future.

The country has both Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines while being the closest African country to Europe - in fact three small Spanish-controlled exclaves, Ceuta, Melilla, and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera directly border Morocco on the mainland. A history of independence runs deep through Morocco - for example it’s the only North African country to avoid Ottoman occupation. Due to its relative stability, location, and tourist-friendly set-up, it is a magnet for photographers to come and cut their teeth in travel photography. The impressive cityscapes and landscapes of the region of course bolster this, with some beautiful mountain ranges providing a stunning backdrop - possessing the highest peak in North Africa via the Atlas Mountains, Toubkal, at 4,167 m (13,671 ft).
