Earlier this week, the winners of this year's Take a View landscape photographer of the year awards were announced. The annual competition supported by VisitBritain and Network Rail celebrates the very best photographers Britain has to offer. Chosen by a panel of respected judges and over a number of categories, this year's entries included some truly stunning images. Among those shortlisted and commended, were two images shot by Picfair photographer David Hopley. To celebrate his success in the competition, we've put together a selection of our favourite images of his that are available in the Picfair library.

This macine was amazing! it was going at some pace collection the straw form the field, I reckon about 15-20mph. It would then stop and do a big hay bail poo then carry on.

Taken on a trip to Spurn Head yesterday, this is the newly restored lighthouse at the end of the spit. I wanted to use the drone to get some shots of the waves crashing onto the rocks but unfortunately it was a bit too windy. Taken at Skipwith Common in North Yorkshire, Skipwith National Nature Reserve is one of the last remaining areas of lowland heath in the north of England. Like many of my aerial drone shots it is difficult to scout out new compositions until you are up in the air. The high viewpoint gave me the opportunity to view the expanse of the common and look for interesting shapes on the ground. From around 100m up in the air this lake looked to me like a ghost.
