Hi Tahir! Tell us about yourself in two sentences - who are you?
My name is Tahir Abbas, and I live in Sialkot in Pakistan. I'm a video editor, but recently I've been spending more time working as a wildlife photographer. I love to photograph birds in their natural habitat.
QWhat's the weirdest situation you've found yourself in while taking a photograph?
AI've been in a lot of weird situations during my time as a photographer. One day, I was going through the marsh to get near to the flock of birds. There was a lot of marshland and no way to get through it! Suddenly I looked down at my cam and there was no lens on it. I had lost the lens in the marsh. I spent more than 5 hours searching for the lens and finally found in the mud.
QWhat do you shoot on? What's your favourite set up?
ANowadays I use a Canon 7d mk ii with Canon 400mm 5.6. There is also a Canon 70d, and a Canon 50mm 1.8.sigma 18-35 art lens in my bag.
QWhat's your number one tip for an aspiring photographer?
APhotography can still be your main passion even if you are not making any money from it. It is an activity that makes you become a nature loving person, and at the same time, instead of being inactive at home playing with your smart phone, you spend quality time outside keeping your health at maximum :).

My fav photo is 'Dance lesson'. I always love to shoot birds in golden light. I was working on capturing a great cormorant at sunrise in a pond in my home town Sialkot, when suddenly a great egret landed near a little egret. Both egrets opened their wings, and it looked as though they were dancing. 'Dance lesson' is the most popular image in my gallery. Read less
