Interview with Mariusz Burcz

18 December 2015

Posted by Anna Fraser

Hi Mariusz! Tell us about yourself in two sentences - who are you?

Hello! I live in Szczecin in Poland. I started doing landscape photography because I love beautiful places.

QWhat's the weirdest situation you've found yourself in while taking a photograph?

AOne strange situation occurred when I was in a river trying to photograph a beaver, and he swam right at me. He shot out of the water in my direction, it was quite dangerous at the time.

QWhat do you shoot on? What's your favourite set up?

A My favourite set up is the Sony Alpha 58 with a Sigma 10-20mm lens and a tripod.

QWhat's your number one tip for an aspiring photographer?

AMy main tip for beginners is to learn to distinguish between things, and to make the ordinary beautiful.

My favourite photo on Picfair is this panorama of Manarola in the light of the setting sun. I had waited for a few days for the late afternoon sun to be strong enough to illumin... Read more

This last photo is of a rainbow that appeared in one of my favourite places for photographic expeditions. This place is characterised by a long road running between the fields where there is an alley of young trees that disappear over the horizon. I took the photo after a huge downpour of rain. Suddenly there were two rainbows, one above the other. Later on, I joined two photos together to create a panorama. Read less
