Hi Daniel! Tell us about yourself in two sentences - who are you?
I'm a retired construction site administrator, now aged 67, with a love of photography spanning over 45 years. I'm currently living on the north east coast of England.
QWhat's the weirdest situation you've found yourself in while taking a photograph?
ANot so weird as such... But taking landscape photos can get you into all sorts of trouble. Very wet feet from the waves when taking seascapes, the right position is always from in the water two feet deep. Or landscapes in Scotland, the best position is from that muddy bog. Or take the Chemical Beach at Seaham... you can get carried away taking photos and the tide will cut you off. If this is the case, just wait for the tide to turn so you can access the rocks and the way off the beach.
QWhat do you shoot on? What's your favourite set up?
AI use a Canon 5D mark III, and lens-wise I use Canon 17-40mm, Canon 24-105mm, Canon 70-200mm, and a Canon 300 F4.
QWhat's your number one tip for an aspiring photographer?
AGet up early and catch the dawn, and never be satisfied with only 'very good' photos, they've got to be 'wow'.
