We Brits have a curious relationship with summer. Some years, it barely turns up at all. Other years, it sticks around a little longer than we’re comfortable with - heat isn’t something we’ve ever had to grow accustomed to. Regardless, each summer millions of Brits struggle their way to the seaside, elements notwithstanding. Puglia it ain’t, but awaiting them is a distinctly British version of beauty - from 99 Flakes and rusting Victorian piers on the south coast; to the rugged coast and lashing seas of south Wales; to the deep estuaries and breathtaking low tides of Lancashire.
