The Himalayas is one of the highest places on Earth. It has over 70 mountains which include 10 of the world's highest peaks – and include the world’s highest, Mount Everest, at 8,848 meters.
Although it contains some of the world’s most isolated spots, it is home to over 50 million people. Primarily due to its gigantic size which stretches across 5 countries: India, Nepal, Bhutan, China and Pakistan. Even though the population stems from diverse cultures, the Himalayan people have a shared sense of pride for their natural, healthy, and isolated mountain lifestyle.
We’ve chosen 14 photographs from the higher and more isolated regions to showcase the Himalaya’s incredible untouched beauty.
