The barbers’ trade has been dated all the way back to 3500 BC in Egypt. Barbers were highly respected members of society in ancient Egypt as well as other archaic cultures. In Ancient Greece, men would have their beards, hair, and fingernails trimmed and styled in the market place, and it also served as a social gathering to find out the latest news and local gossip. Many of these ancient cultural traditions have lived on to the modern world, and barber shops still have maintained the same social energy since the ancient civilisations. And the industry shows no signs of stopping - despite various economic downfalls and recessions, the barbering has always seen continued positive growth.
