No two clouds are of the exact same shape. Some look like hordes of sheep, others are more resemblant of a bird's feather. Certain ones function as the most elaborate ornament that compliments the blindingly clear, almost turquoise blue sky. Others grow so bulbous they shroud the sun. Some are astonishingly white; others tainted with a navy-lilac colour or blazing oranges and pinks during sunset.
Though few would point sternly to the sky, adjust their spectacles, and announce as to whether they are looking at a group of cumulus, nimbus or cirrus clouds, their latin names are as beautiful as their physical form. While they remain miles high in the sky forever out of our grasp - for now we can settle for these 16 gorgeous shots from our photographers across the globe.
