Chongqing, known as China’s ‘Mountain City’ due to its undulating terrain, is one of the most densely populated regions in the country. Found in Southwest China, it is home to over 30 million residents, and is a major manufacturing centre and transportation hub, having enjoyed rapid economic development in recent times. Chongqing is the fourth municipality in China after Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin.

We've selected a series of intriguing images featuring a mix of its urban sprawl alongside stunning nature located within the city.
