UNESCO estimates that there are over 3 million shipwrecks scattered around the globe, many of which are thousands of years old. Some will forever be forgotten, never to be found in their final resting place at the bottom of the sea. Ill-fated voyages and shipwrecks have been the subject of curiosity, legend and lore for centuries and they still continue to fascinate to this day.
